When you’re ready for an update to your home — whether it’s a basic remodel or a renovation of your entire home — we know one of the biggest concerns you have is finding a general contractor you can count on in Northeast Ohio.
At Malek Construction, we pride ourselves on being your partner in helping to bring house dreams come to life. We strive to be different than other contractors, putting a professional process in place to help us understand your goals. We then use that knowledge to follow an agreed upon plan through the conclusion of your home improvement.
We follow this six-step process on every project to ensure your happiness. Here are the steps in that process:
1. Initial conversation
When you reach out to us to discuss your project, we always start with an initial conversation about your home improvement goals. During this phone call, we will ask you several questions so that we can have a full understanding before we come to your home to see the project in person.
During this conversation, we’ll coordinate a free consultation at your home at a time that’s convenient for you.
2. Free consultation
Following our initial conversation with you, we will visit your home for a full consultation. During this consultation we’ll measure the space in question, have a deeper discussion about options and have our first brainstorming session about how the work can come together. This conversation mixes our understanding of what you want for your home with our experience in construction. We can also add in our expertise in interior design to help focus on the finished project priorities.
With these site-specific details in hand, we’ll be able to get through your additional questions and start to discuss a timeline and budget for your project.
3. Design and planning process
After our initial consultation with you, we’ll begin the planning phase of your project. Because we have the advantage of having an interior designer on our team, we are able to follow a design-build process to streamline your project. The design-build process means that we can be your single source contractor for the entire project, minimizing your risk of contractor confusion. As we do the planning, we’ll handle the design, materials recommendations and overall timeline for when work can be done. As this all comes together, we’ll bring recommendations back to you on material types and costs and have a conversation about your budget.
4. Project Estimate and Contract
With the details and rough timeline in place, we’ll create a project estimate for you to review. This estimate will reflect the budget conversations we had throughout steps two and three. This estimate is a conversation point where we can talk through final details on the project and make sure all of your priorities are covered. When you are pleased with this phase, we’ll send along a statement of work contract that outlines our mutual goals and responsibilities and secures your project start date.
5. Work begins
Once the project details are in place, the fun part begins! We’ll work efficiently to get your home improvement under way, so know that your new or updated living space is on its way.
Throughout work on your home, you can expect great professionalism from our crew. Our crew knows and appreciates that you have invited them into your home, and we do not take that invite lightly. We’ll keep a clean work space and protect other areas of your home.
As the project comes together, we’ll communicate with you on a regular basis about progress and will always make ourselves available to answer questions.
6. Welcome to your updated home
Just like that, you have an updated home! We’ll take great care in the final phase of our work to clean and finish your newly renovated and remodeled area so that as soon as we walk out of your house you can invite friends and family over to see your updates.
After the work is done we’ll inform you of any upkeep or maintenance details you’ll need to know and we’ll continue to be available for any questions you have.
We’re happy to say that our customers across Northeast Ohio have reported to us that they love their updated home. You can see some of the photos from previous projects we’ve done here. You can also read reviews of some recent projects here.
